The 2009 Kirkland Triathlon Photos
Today (Sunday), was the morning of one of Kirkland, Washington's biggest public sporting events: the Kirkland Triathlon. I arrived on the scene about 6:45am to find a nice spot to photograph the athletes. The weather was fantastic at the start of the race (perhaps a tad on the cool side). There were so many spectators that getting around inside the event was a challenge (with all the rerouted roads, closed sidewalks and such). I stayed at the transition area between the swim and bike for too long and missed a bunch of opportunities at the end of the race to capture the fastest runners (I got stuck trying to cross several streets which were closed to foot traffic).
